It was an honor to represent Patriot Voices at the Ronald Reagan Symposium on February 7th at Regent University. My husband, Tim, and our 16 year old son, Stephen, (appropriately rocking sweater vests) joined me to assist at the Patriot Voices table and to hear some of the excellent speakers at the symposium.
Since Patriot Voices was a sponsor of the event, I had the honor and pleasure of handing out awards to the winners of the student essay contest. What an inspiration it was to meet these exceptional young Americans who share a love of country and deep concern about the direction our nation is heading.
Our table was literally bustling with activity during break time with people signing up for emails, entering our prize giveaways, and discussing our display of Patriot Voices items. They asked lots of questions about our organization and how to host an “Our Sacred Honor” party.
It was Rick Santorum, though, who was foremost on everyone’s mind as we were bombarded with “If Rick’s name is associated with it, it has to be good,” “What has Rick been doing since his campaign?” and “Please tell me Rick is running in 2016. We NEED him in the White House!” Several men asked my husband where they could get a Rick Santorum sweater vest like his.
It was quite a challenge for the three of us to keep up with the heavy traffic at our table while trying to speak individually with each person. Most were surprised to learn just how busy Senator Santorum has been since his campaign in 2012. They were delighted to know how fully engaged he has been on the political and cultural fronts. I can honestly say that had the Senator been there in person he absolutely would have been mobbed by supporters and admirers!
After the event I had the opportunity to address a group of students attending a pizza luncheon. I shared about our organization and how young people have a critical role in helping turn our nation around. As the Senator says often: there is something out there for each of us to do!
Thank you Patriot Voices for this opportunity to shine some light here in southeast Virginia about our terrific organization!
